First Day in Comalapa

Ray working with cob at the worksite.

From the Journal of: Ray

Today will be one of the most memorable days of my life. It`s my first day working in Guatemala. Today I saw a giant wall of tires that  was built  by the volunteers of Long Way Home and villagers of Comalapa. I  have to say that I was impressed by the effort and  strength and hard work that they have put in to make  this beneficial for their community. Today I helped to make cob for the school. This project will benefit the environment and the people of Comalapa. I can`t wait to continue working with my fellow volunteers and living the life of a Comalapan!!

Kara standing next to Long Way Home´s unfinished cistern. This cistern will eventually hold 50,000 gallons of rainwater harvested from the sky.
